About Me

I confess. Swanky Southern Canvas had a face lift and is now CG_Strong.  I started CG_Strong to focus more on Fitness/Health related topics and less on my everyday adventures. In the near future, I hope to become a CPT, so I can take my passion to the next level. {Disclaimer: I am not a certified personal trainer, so please take that into consideration when performing  my example workouts}

For those of you who don't know me personally, here is my story....

My Story
All my life I played sports, ate whatever I wanted, and maintained a "perfect" toothpick physique. I just knew there was nooooo way my body would ever change from that. Boy, was I wrong.

My first 2 years into college..
The sports had stopped, [working out at all, stopped], eating late and partying every night was the norm, and fast food was my jam. All the above led to about a 30-40 lb weight gain within the first two years of college. Did I consider myself to be fat? No way! In fact, I hardly recognized the difference; I was so caught up in the unhealthy lifestyle. So, I continued the late night Taco Bell trips, beer chuggin', and lack of exercise.

Going into my later years of college...
It was finally brought to my attention [by a couple of my best guy friends--thanks guys!] that my life was in a spiral and overall unhealthy. I quickly...
leaned on cardio as a crutch to shed LBs quicker. I skipped breakfast, had low cal lunches, and would wear my crown proudly on the treadmill as "Cardio Queen" up to two times a day. Granted, I lost most of the weight I gained and some, but I was still unsatisfied; I knew there had to be better out there.

Post college...
It wasn't until after I graduated college where I really amp'd up my workout routine and eating habits.

This is where I would like to thank The Man Above for sending me my saving grace, Taylor. His healthy habits and way of life are what motivated me to make these positive changes.
